African Scops Owl – Otus senegalensis

The African Scops Owl is a small type of owl. It is native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is distinguished from other owls by its distinctive “prrp” call. The African Scops Owl makes this call approximately every five seconds.

This specimen is of the highest quality. It displays snow-white plumage around its face. It also has a characteristically white beak. It has two tufts of feathers that shoot out from both sides of its head. It is mounted on a piece of driftwood secured to a wooden base.

Evolution carries several kinds of African owls!
