Alligator – Alligator mississippiensis
The America Alligator is a reptile native only to the southern US. There are only two species of alligators, the other being the Chinese Alligator, which is significantly smaller than the American variety.
American Alligators are typically found in wetlands, and often live in close proximity to humans. Adults vary in color from green to brown to black, and their undersides are creamy white. The color of their skin depends on the concentration of algae in their environment.
This is one of the largest pieces of taxidermy that Evolution carries!
