Ammonite Pendant
This necklace features a well-preserved fossil Ammonite Pendant. Ammonites are an extinct group of marine invertebrate animals that are closely related to modern-day octopi, squid, and cuttlefish. Their shells typically take the form of planispirals.
Ammonites were named after the Egyptian god Ammon, whose attribute was rams' horns which they were thought to resemble. Ammonites lived between 400 million and 65.5 million years ago.
These ammonites come from Morocco, and the stone in which they are
embedded has hardened into marble. They are also available undrilled.
Evolution carries a wide variety of unique ammonite specimens!
