Beetle Brooch – Sternocera aequisignata
The Beetle used to create this Brooch is one of 56 species in the genus Sternocera. It is distinguished from other beetles by its glossy, iridescent wing covers, which make it highly prized for beetlewing craft projects.
Jewel Beetles are used for decorative purposes throughout Asia, and especially in India, Thailand, and Japan. The iridescence of their wing covers is created by the same process by which CDs reflect multiple colors.
Evolution also carries Jewel Beetle Earrings and loose Jewel Beetle Wing Covers for craft projects!
