Centipede in Resin - Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans

Despite their name, not all centipedes have a hundred legs. In fact, some have less than 20, and some have more than 300. Interestingly, centipedes’ legs always come in odd numbers – e.g. 15 pairs – never an even number of pairs.

This centipede has been preserved in a resin block and makes a unique paperweight. In addition, these specimens are so beautiful that they can also be displayed on their own on a bookshelf or mantle.
