The word dendrite comes from the Greek word for tree, “dendron,” because of its branching tree-like pattern. A dendrite is a crystal that develops when fissures in rocks are filled with minerals, often forming in water rich in manganese or iron.  While dendrites are not made of organic material, they are often mistaken for fossils because they form in a similar way.  Our dendrites are naturally forms Manganese mineral deposits in limestone from Germany. Individual shapes and minerals vary but your item will resemble the pictured example.
