Fossil Shark Tooth Pendant – Otodus obliquus
Remains of the prehistoric shark Otodus obliquus have been excavated in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. The species is believed to have been widespread and highly successful. Indeed, at up to 30ft long, this shark was considered the king of the Eocene Epoch.
The teeth from this shark usually have smooth cutting edges, but some show signs of evolving serrations. They come from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where the lack of current on the ocean floor means less mineral staining, which preserves their white color.
The Evolution Store carries many pendants featuring natural products, including meteorites, ammonites, and bull shark teeth!
