Gouldian Finch

Finches are songbirds that are primarily native to our planet's southern hemisphere. Certain finches have been cited by Charles Darwin and others as living examples of evolutionary change within species.

This Gouldian Finch has been mounted on a small branch. Its head is tilted slightly to the side, with its tail feathers extended behind. Its plumage is quite colorful, and includes yellow, purple, and green.
