While mostly found in Canada, the Grizzly ranges from Alaska to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. A slightly smaller subspecies of the Brown bear, male Grizzlies can reach 10 feet when standing and weigh up to 1200 lbs. Grizzlies can be distinguished from other Brown bear subspecies by their silver tipped coat, proportionately longer claws and cranial profile which resembles a Polar bears. This skull is from a male and is 28 ¾ “long. Cast from a specimen from Kodiak Island, Alaska.
