Homo ergaster Skeleton, KNM WT 15000, "Nariokotome Boy" (Replica)

Item #SS065

Homo ergaster Skeleton, KNM WT 15000, "Nariokotome Boy" (Replica)

This Homo ergaster skeleton was discovered in 1984 in Nariokotome, Kenya by Richard Leakey, also called “Nariokotome boy”. This is the first skeleton dated before 100,000 years that is complete enough to get accurate measurements to determine brain size. These skeletal parts recovered gave anthropologists a great deal of information regarding size, stature, age at death (probably 12 or 13 years) and whether or not language was possible. The narrower pelvis reveals a greater ability to run than modern humans. And some traits reveal a closer affinity to australopithecines. This reconstruction contains only those bones found in the originally discovery without any additions

This museum quality replica is cast from an exactingly-produced sculpture, based on photographs, descriptions and precise measurements of original fossils.
