Killer Bee – Apis mellifera scutellata x Apis mellifera ligustica

The Killer Bee is also known as an Africanized Honey Bee. It is a hybrid between the African Honey Bee and a European Honey Bee, such as the Italian Bee. It is distinguished from other bees by its highly aggressive nature.

Killer Bees are known for attacking and invading European Honey Bees' beehives, killing their enemies' Queens in order to do so. They evolved as a result of African Honey Bees being accidentally released by a beekeeper in Brazil in 1957.
