Malachite is a beautiful green stone most often found in association with copper, which lends it its intense color. Historically, it has long been prized as a decorative stone, and was incorporated into painters' pigments. It is mined in many places around the world, including Russia, Africa, and North America, but the best material, such as these lovely little eggs, comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
