Phrenology Head with Butterflies, Large

Phrenology is a now-defunct pseudoscience which purported to be able to predict or diagnose personality traits based on bumps, bulges or fissures on the individual's head.

The curious image of a head divided into little compartments with labels such as "blandness" or "sense of the terrific" remains compelling to this day, and the phrenology head is still an interesting psychological symbol.

This version has been decorated with butterflies, dragonflies and other insects, for a whimsical design accent that would look great on a mantlepiece or bookshelf.
