Old World Rabbit – Oryctolagus cuniculus

The Old World Rabbit is also known as the European Rabbit and the Common Rabbit. It is native to southwest Europe, including Spain and Portugal, as well as North Africa. However, it has been widely introduced to other parts of the world.

Old World Rabbits are considered to be a highly invasive species in regions in which they were not originally native, and have had devastating effects of local biodiversity. For example, it has no natural predators in Australia, and so has been able to multiply rapidly.
