Tagua Nut
Tagua Palms are common throughout South America, including Panama, Ecuador, and Bolivia. Locally, they are referred to as “elephant plants” because of the ivory-colored nuts that they produce.
Each Tagua Nut is a unique specimen, ranging in color and size. They also have a distinctive brown web-like pattern that spreads across the nut. They are often carved into figures or used as beads, buttons, and other decorative types of jewelry.
