Turquoise Tanager

Tangara mexicana

The Turquoise Tanager is native to South America, and can be found anywhere from Trinidad to Brazil. This striking bird is known for its contrasting colors, including blue, black, and yellow. Unusually social, these birds typically live in groups.

This specimen has been mounted on a small slice of wood. Its exceptional quality is visible in its electric blue plumage and jet black beak. Despite its relatively small size, it would easily become a focal point in anyone's collection.
