Rousette Bat Skeleton in Dome - Rousettus leschenaultii

THE SCIENCE

Leschenault's rousette, Rousettus leschenaultii, is a species of fruit bat first documented in 1820. It is found in a variety of habitats, ranging from tropical forests to urban environments, and roosts in caves, old abandoned buildings and tunnels, and other man-made structures. A colony can contain up to several thousand individuals!

THE STORY

Bats are incredibly diverse, with more than 1,100 species - from the tiny bumblebee bat to giant flying foxes with six-foot wingspans. The forelimbs of a bat are webbed and developed as wings, making them the only mammals capable of sustained flight! Each specimen has been hand-selected by our buying team to ensure your bat is of the highest quality.

Individual specimens vary but your item will resemble the pictured example.
