Vintage Carp Poster

Originally native to Europe and Asia, the Common Carp has now been introduced widely around the world, sometimes as a food source, sometimes as an ornamental fish (such as Koi), and often as an invasive species. The ancient Romans and Chinese both raised Carp, and it is still the most farmed fish in the world. Shown is the Common Carp itself as well as anatomical details of the organs and skeleton.

Despite their having been around so long, Carps are still pretty hip – just look at that handlebar mustache!

This large and colorful  vintage zoological roll down wall chart of Carp was designed by Jung, Koch & Quentell and printed by Hagemann Publishers in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1974.

It is mounted on linen canvas stretched on wooden rods and comes with a cord strung through the top wooden rod for easy hanging. It is in good condition with light wear consistent with age and use.
