Fossil Megalodon Shark Tooth

Carcharodon megalodon

Item #FS0007

Megalodon Shark Tooth

This genuine fossil is a tooth from a megalodon (Carcharodon megalodon), an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 25 million to 1.5 million years ago. Megalodon is considered one of the largest predators that ever lived.

Scientists estimate that Megalodon grew over 50 feet long, and they are believed to have resembled the modern great white shark in appearance. Fossil Megalodon Shark Teeth can be found around the world, and are especially abundant in South Carolina.

Up until the 17th century, biologists believed these teeth to be petrified dragon tongues!

Individual shapes and fossils vary but your item will resemble the pictured example.
