African Spurred Tortoise – Geochelone sulcata
The African Spurred Tortoise inhabits the southern edge of the Sahara desert, in Northern Africa. It is the third largest species of tortoise in the world and is the largest species of mainland tortoise (i.e., not found on an island). It is distinguished from other tortoises by the furrows on its scales.
Full-body mounts of turtles and tortoises are quite rare, and only pass through Evolution on special occasions!
