The Science:
Beetles are one of the earth's most successful animals, and Flower Beetles such as this one can be found all over the world, in a wide spectrum of colors. This is a very pretty, intensely green Beetle found in China and Tibet and known as Trigonophorus rothschildi. A member of the Scarabaeidae family, its shell has a prismatic quality, refracting ambient light to give its bright green color an iridescent sheen.
The Story:
This Chafer specimen is encased in transparent lucite resin, making it a great educational display or a charming piece of decor for your desk or shelf.
