Fossil Ammonite - Quenstedtoceras species
The Science:
Quenstedtoceras ammonites were marine invertebrates related to octopuses, squid, and cuttlefish. As cephalopods, their ability to swim distinguished them from clams and snails. These particular specimens were found in the Milkhailov Quarry in the Ryazan Region of Russia. They lived during the Upper Jurassic Period, some 150 million years ago.
