GIANT TUN - TONNA GALEA

The Science

These large sea snails prefer to live in muddy or sandy areas of the ocean floor. They're found everywhere from shallow waters to depths as great as 400 feet. They're carnivorous creatures that prey upon sea cucumbers.

 

The Story

Giant Tuns are found all throughout the North Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and Caribbean Sea. The species was first catalogued by Carl Linnaeus in 1758.
