The Science

Obsidian is an extrusive volcanic rock, meaning it comes from magma that erupted from a volcano, as opposed to an intrusive rock, which cones from magma underground. Obsidian forms from magma that cools rapidly-- if lava has no time to form crystals it instead becomes glass! This jet-black, volcanic glass is slightly thicker than the average window pane.

The Story

These cat carvings stand on their own and are approximately 1" tall and wide.
