Clam is a common name for several species of bivalve mollusk. They live in both freshwater and marine environments. Clams have two shells of equal size connected by two adductor muscles and have a burrowing foot.

 

The Story

Nacre also known as mother-of-pearl is an organic-inorganic composite material produced by some mollusks as an inner shell layer. It is also the material of which pearls are composed.
