Blood Red Glider - Cymothoe sangaris

THE SCIENCE:

Cymothoe sangaris is a species of butterfly found throughout the Guinean forests along the West African coast, as well as the Congolian forests of Central Africa. Commonly referred to as the Blood Red Glider, its wings are an outstanding “blood-red.” The species is primarily arboreal, keeping to the forest canopies earlier in the day then descending to lower levels of the forest during the late afternoon to early evening.

THE STORY:

Simple yet striking, the Blood Red Glider is the perfect little splash of color to your home or office on its own. Displayed with other framed butterflies in our collection like the Giant Blue Morpho and the Orange-Barred Sulfur, it becomes part of a solid, dynamic, and beautiful array that commands appreciative attention. Our all-natural, intact specimens (no fake parts here!) are all of first-rate quality, delicately prepared, mounted, and framed with double-glass glazing in our very own fabrication studio in Upstate New York. We model our frames from solid fine ashwood, and they’re available in both a matte-black, and a natural finish.

Our framed insects are made-to-order. Please allow up to two weeks for your order to be completed. If you need your order sooner than this, please contact us at 212-343-1114 x401 or fabrication@theevolutionstore.com and we will do our best to accommodate you!
