Peacock, Blue - Pavo cristatus
The Science
The Indian Peacock is a type of pheasant native to South Asia. It is famous for the male's brightly colored tail, which it fans out to attract a mate. In contrast, the female is a dull brown color, which allows her to camouflage herself while guarding her nest.
The Story
This peacock is unique because of the manner in which it has been displayed. Instead of the typical, fanned-out tail-feathers, this specimen's tail is allowed to cascade down to the ground, making it an elegant addition to your home.
