The Science
The Chiragra spider conch is a species of very large sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Strombidae, the true conches. Females are significantly larger than males.
The Story
Chiragra spider conches are found in the Indo-Pacific, found in the Aldabra Atoll, Chagos, Mauritius, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, the Gulf of Bengal and eastern Polynesia. They can be found as northern as Taiwan and as southern from Japan to New Caledonia and Australia.
