Framed Flying Lizard - Draco sp.
THE SCIENCE
This flying lizard is of the genus Draco. "Flying lizards" are a bit of a misnomer, as they actually are only capable of gliding flight. These specimens come from Indonesia, but they can be found throughout Southeast Asia. Flying Lizards inhabit a variety of habitats, including forests, gardens, and jungles. They were first described by Carl Linnaeus himself, the father of modern taxonomy, and their genus name is derived from the Latin word for "dragon".
THE STORY
Our Framed Flying Lizards are available in two colors - red and yellow. They are preserved in a sleek, black plastic frame, with a glass pane for viewing. The back of the frame features a hook for convenient wall hanging, and the specimen is identified with a small white label.
