The Science:
The Jeweled-Flower Mantis most widespread of the creobroter flower mantises. They can found be found anywhere from Northern India to Southern Indonesia. Jeweled-flower mantises prefer humid climates. These mantises are among the smallest of the creobroter mantises. A full-adult mantis only grows to be 1.7 inches long (4.3 cm).
Their diet consists of fruit flies and blowflies but females also eat the male's head off after they mate. When eggs are laid, they take 5 weeks to hatch and 2-5 months to fully mature. They can live up to 9 months in captivity.
