The Science

Peridot is a striking green gemstone formed deep within the Earth’s mantle, making it one of the few gems found in volcanic rocks. Its vibrant color comes from trace amounts of iron in its crystal structure, which can range from yellow-green to olive. Peridot is a variety of the mineral olivine, and it’s unique for occurring in just one color family. Interestingly, peridot is also found in some meteorites, suggesting it could have an extraterrestrial origin, adding an out-of-this-world element to its beauty.

The Story

These Peridot chips have been placed for display in a vial. Each small group comes in a vial for display. Easily taken out for closer inspection, these genuine rocks make fantastic gifts! Each vial contains beautiful natural variations. We have many other crystal vials available - collect them all!
