Snowflake Obsidian Heart
The Science
Snowflake obsidian is a striking volcanic glass known for its unique white, snowflake-like patterns, which are actually crystallized inclusions of cristobalite, a form of silica. These patterns form naturally during the cooling process of lava, as the molten material solidifies quickly, trapping small crystals inside. Despite being a type of obsidian, snowflake obsidian is relatively less sharp due to its smoother texture, and it has been used for thousands of years to make tools and ornaments. Interestingly, snowflake obsidian is thought to have calming properties and is often used in metaphysical practices for its grounding effects.
The Story
These hearts have been hand-carved by skilled artisans. Each heart contains beautiful natural variations.. We have many other crystal hearts available - collect them all!
