Pink Evolution Skull T-Shirt

 

The Science:

The image of a human skull that adorns our classic T-Shirt and was drawn by Jan Wandelaar for Dutch anatomist Bernhard Siegfried Albinus, as an illustration for his famous illustrated anatomical treatise Tabulae Sceleti et Musculorum Corporis Humani (Leiden, 1747). Building on the anatomical illustrations of Vesalius and Eustachius, Albinus and Wandelaar constructed their depictions from the skeleton out, rather than from the typical starting point of a dissection working inwards.

The Story:

Our Skull T-Shirts are made from 100% pre-shrunk cotton, so they will remain very true to size for years to come. Available in Black or parchment-colored Unbleached Cotton; sizes from Child (10/12) to adult XXL. We also offer Tank Tops, Hoodies and Tote Bags decorated with this distinctive anatomical skull.     One of my absolute favorite shirts! I’m on my 2nd one, but still wearing the first as it gets gnarlier with age. Not sure if people seeing me wear it realize it reference’s the store or it’s some kind of social commentary. .

    We love this t-shirt! Getting the practicality out of the way...the cotton is a perfect weight and the printing is beautifully done. Very comfortable and does well in the washing machine and dryer. As for the logo and the skull...it is a coveted design! We get stopped when wearing it as people want to know about it and the store. We live in the Bay Area, and I am sure that there are many of these T-shirts walking around because of ours! I got the first one about 5 years ago and truly hope that you keep this in permanent stock.

    This past week, I placed an order for two items: a black t-shirt and black tank. A couple of years ago, I had two black t-shirts that I wore almost every day. The shirts wash well and the skull art is attractive (not Halloween like or tacky for every day use). To preserve the shirts, I washed them in natural detergent and left to air dry for a day. (Follow the instructions in the shirt, the above is how I maintained them.) The item is true to size. I wear a size large, but in the past got XL to sleep in. The shirts make a great gift for skull lovers (like myself), or seeking a quality black t shirt to show off.

    This was a quality tee. I found the XL to be a nice fit for me as i am a male with broad shoulders and I didn’t feel I was drowning in it. The canvas of the shirt is unique and the design is smooth and sturdy. I can’t imagine it falling off during a wash or anything. So, yeah. I’m cute in this.

    My husband first purchased this shirt at the American Museum of Natural History in New York a few years ago. He loved the graphics so much that he asked me to purchase it again. He couldn't be happier. I am so glad that I found this store.
