Tumbled Tiger Eye
Tiger's eye is usually gold and brown with a silky luster and parallel, fibrous bands of color. Tiger's eye is mined mainly in South Africa and western Australia. It is a pseudomorph, meaning that it forms when one mineral replaces another. Tiger's eye forms when silica replaces the fibers of crocidolite (a form of aesbestos) and takes on their crystalline structure. The result is Tiger's Eye's distinctive, fiber-optic-like sheen, known as chatoyancy.
Individual shapes and colors vary but your item will resemble the pictured examples.
