American Black Bear Rug - Ursus americanus
The Science
The American black bear (Ursus americanus) is endemic to North America. It is our smallest and most widely distributed bear. They are omnivores, with their diets varying greatly depending on season and location. They typically live in largely forested areas, but will leave their homes in search of food, and are sometimes attracted to human communities for this reason. Despite the name, some subspecies can be brown or even blond in coloration.
The Story
This American black bear rug features a bright blue felt lining. Its fur is exceptionally thick and lustrous. Its mouth is mounted in an open position, revealing its fearsome teeth.
