BURCHELL’S ZEBRA RUG

THE SCIENCE:

Zebras are horses’ evolutionary cousins native to Africa; they’re very well known for their distinctive black and white stripes. Although they’ve never been truly domesticated, they are in fact very social animals, and they live in large herds. Burchell’s zebra (Equus quagga burchellii) is a subspecies of the plains zebra (the most common variety) found throughout southern Africa. It’s named after William John Burchell, a British explorer, naturalist, artist, and author. This species migrates the longest distance of any terrestrial animal in Africa, traveling 160 miles each way between the Chobe River in Namibia to Nxai Pan National Park in Botswana.

THE STORY:

These Burchell’s zebra rugs are all hand-selected by us to ensure exceptional quality, and are a unique way to enhance your home décor! They’re backed with black felt, and trimmed in leather, ensuring years of continued enjoyment.
