Tumbled Petrified Wood
The Science
Petrified wood is the result of a tree's trunk or limbs having turned completely into stone by the process of permineralization. This means that more-or-less all of the original organic materials have been replaced with minerals.
The Story
These small, lovely pieces of petrified wood have been tumbled smooth to bring out the colors, markings and patterns that are unique to each one. Glossy and slippery to the touch, they make great worry stones and fantastic little gifts for kids! Petrified wood is the ultimate antique!
Individual shapes and fossils vary but your item will resemble the pictured examples.
