Orange Albatross Butterfly - Appias nero
The Science:
The Orange Albatross is a butterfly in the family Pieridae found across Southeast Asia. A solid deep orange color on its upper wings with dark ribbed patterns, its hue varies in intensity from specimen to specimen. Females are rarely seen in the wild, but males can sometimes be spotted in small groups by sandy puddles or riverbanks, drinking mineralized water to replenish the salts depleted through mating.
