GREEN STAG BEETLE - LAMPRIMA ADOLPHINAE

THE SCIENCE:

The green stag beetle, Lamprima adolphinae, is a species of stag beetle native to Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Members of this species vary widely in coloration; individuals can be found in green, gold, brown, and blue, and many colors in between. Despite their relatively menacing appearance, members of L. adolphinae are not carnivorous; they feed primarily on tree sap and rotting fruit. Males sport large mandibles which are used in battle with other males over mates, territory, and food.

Your specimen will not look like photo

The specimen you will receive if you order online and cannot verify, will not be bright and colorful like the display photo. While wholly intact, it was dull black and boring. Nothing worth displaying.
