DEIDAMIA MORPHO - MORPHO DEIDAMIA
THE SCIENCE:
Morpho deidamia is a Neotropical butterfly species found throughout much of Central and South America, including Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil. It’s actually considered a species group, that is to say, many subspecies have been described. It’s a sexually dimorphic species, with the topsides of the males’ wings featuring much larger patches of a brilliant, reflective steel-blue coloration.
THE STORY:
Like most members of the Morpho genus, M. deidamia is one of the most gorgeous species of butterfly out there. Grab a specimen today!
