Large Polished Chrysocolla
This piece took our breath away when we discovered it during one of our shopping trips. The electric blue color is unlike any we had ever seen! We haven't offered chrysocolla before, so we decided we had to have it!
Did you know that chrysocolla is actually related to copper? Chrysocolla deposits are often found alongside copper veins. This mineral's name means "gold glue" in Ancient Greek, as it was used to solder the precious metal starting in 315 BCE. Chrysocolla has been popular for use as a gemstone for carvings and ornamental use since antiquity.
This piece comes from one of our partners in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We only have one piece available!
